At first I wasn’t sure if I wanted to review this film as I’m not the biggest fan of discussing politics, I prefer to just make my decisions on those type of things and keep them to myself but this film had something extra to it’s core, art. “In this Corner of the World” is a 2016 animated wartime drama, directed by Sunao Katabuchi. The story follows the life of a girl turned woman named Suzu, who lives during the time of WWII. It was co-released by Funimation Films in 2017 but it is not on the Funimation App. This film is based on the manga of the same name. There is an extended version of the film set to premiere December 20th, 2019, makes me think I should wait but I’ll update the blog when I see the new extended version. The blog this week may be a little short, I’m in bed with Pneumonia but I’m going to do my best to provide just as much rambling as the other before. 😅
